We added a few fun tricks and treats to spice up an otherwise casual playdate between preschool classmates.  The kids got the chance to pick out a pumpkin of their own from our makeshift "pumpkin patches" (i.e. a cute stand alone shelf we scored at HomeGoods and our bushes).  They then headed to a pumpkin decorating station we set up where they got to "dress up" their pumpkin.  And, of course, you can't have an appropriate Halloween party without a grand selection of treats.  Our dessert display was topped with a balloon garland from Girly Gifts and included a jack-o-lantern-topped cake from Goodies Cakery and cookies from Baked by Laynie.  It happened to be an eighty degree day in late October, so of course, after treats and pumpkins, the pool was in order, bathing suits not included.  You know what they say about the best laid plans...
